A Musical Journey

From a young age, I was captivated by the sound of the piano. Even without lessons, I was drawn to its beauty and emotion. In sixth grade, I auditioned for my school’s talent show and sang Amazing Grace. To my surprise—and my family’s—I received such encouraging feedback that I’ve been singing ever since.

In college, I taught myself to play basic piano chords on the dorm room piano—probably to the dismay of everyone nearby. Over time, songwriting became my outlet and release. I wrote a few love songs that no one has ever heard, but eventually I shifted my focus to my career as a dietitian.

During the pandemic, working in the hospital shook my faith. I often felt empty and wondered where God was. Yet every time I stepped into a church and heard the music, I cried—it moved something deep within me. Even in moments when my faith felt small, God was calling me through the music.

Three years later, I joined my local church’s worship team, and everything began to change. I took nine months off work to write songs for the Lord, and with the help of the Holy Spirit, I’ve written over 21 songs so far. My hope is to share them with others and help people feel God’s presence the way I do through music.
